Bilingual Early Literacy (education)
Location: Rogers Public Library

The Arkansas State Library has placed a bilingual Early Literacy Station in 204 of Arkansas’s Public Libraries. The Rogers Public Library received one! Children ages 2-10 can use the stations to explore programs in Math, Science, Geography, Reading, Writing, Reference, and Music & Art! Every age will find fun and challenges using the programs in either English or Spanish. The AWE Early Literacy Station is a self contained unit. All the fun is right inside the “monitor” and the children can interact with familiar characters such as Little Critter and Stellaluna as well as new friends like the talking skeleton in My Amazing Body by using the keyboard, the child size mouse or just reaching out to gently touch the screen! The Arkansas State Library also provided us with two sets of headphones so that only those using the Early Literacy Stations will hear the sounds, stories and songs. However, don’t be surprised if there isn’t the sound of a small voice or two singing along or answering out loud!Come to Rogers Public Library today to play and learn!“This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Arkansas State Library under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.”
