Habitat for Humanity (community outreach)
Location: Benton County
Habitat for Humanity of Benton County is now accepting Applications for the 2010 and 2011 build years. If you know of anyone that might qualify please call our office number at 479- 273-3638 for more information. We are also looking for individuals and groups who would like to partner with us, to help furnish meals for the volunteers that help on the builds. Also any persons or groups that would like to help with the labor on upcoming builds, Please call 479-273-3638.
Free Tax Services (community outreach)
The free tax services are available starting now and running through April 15 at a variety of sites throughout Northwest Arkansas. Some filers may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) worth up to $5,000, depending on filing status and the number of qualifying, dependant children in the household. For the closest tax locations, individuals can log on to our website - unitedwaynwa.org or call 877-750-1221 which will let them know if they qualify for free tax prep, and where the closest location is to them. In some instances we can even make an appointment over the phone. An additional resource for individuals or families that make less than $58,000 can file their taxes, for free, online at myfreetaxes.com. All of these resources are made available by Walmart and United Way of Northwest Arkansas.
His Hope 4 Haiti (community outreach)
Location: Springdale & Fayetteville Harps Grocery Stores and Sprindgale Fire Departments
Tina Huddleston has arranged with Harp Foods Stores and Sprindale Fire Department as Drop off locations for His Hope 4 Haiti contributions. JB Hunt has donated a truck to transport our communities live saving donations to North Carolina where they will continue by air to Haiti. The list of BEST donations can by found at hishope4haiti.org. If is goes we we may be conintuing the ministry to load another truck. Look for banner on side of truck at Harp's on 412 and Gutensohn.
Upward Soccer League (Sport's Event)
Location: Rogers
Christian based program for boys & girls age 5 through 5th grade. The cost is $55 per child. Register and pay online at www.fbcrogers.org or for more information call 479-636-3451. Deadline to register is March 1.
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement (Missions Event)
Time: 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM
Location: 4 locations in NW Arkansas
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a dynamic 15 week class that goes from Genesis to Revelation, and through today, and shows God’s heart and plan for the redemption of all people of all nations, and how we have always been meant to be a crucial part of it! With 15 different speakers, and 4 different sections (biblical basis, historical context, Cultural study, and Strategic work left to do today) this class has been changing the heartbeat of NWA for the world! Come be a part of it! Choose from 4 locations in NWA starting January 2010. Moms N Kids Gathering (Mothers' Group)
Time: 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Location: Rogers Christian Church - 2421 W. Oak St
FREE group for Moms and their kids held on 2nd & 4th Tuesday of month. 1st monthly gathering is a bible study & fellowship for Moms while kids are cared for in provided, free childcare. 2nd monthly gathering is a time for Moms and their kids to do an activity together.
Community Bible Study (Bible Study)
Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: Southside Church of Christ, 919 S Dixieland Rd, Rogers
You are invited to come and be a part of a Community Bible Study. This will be a 12 week study with a non-threatening informal atmosphere designed to teach you how to study the Bible. The weekly Bible Study Sessions will begin Tuesday, February 2nd from 7-8pm at the Southside Church of Christ, 919 South Dixieland Rd in Rogers. To register, please call (479)636-1156. There are no costs or contribution for the class or materials.
