Peace4Kids (Misc)

Peace4Kids, Inc. is a nonprofit exchange program which places foreign students with loving, volunteer host families for one or two semesters while they attend local high schools. Students speak English and have medical insurance and spending money to cover the cost of personal items, school lunches, and entertainment. If you are interested in the Great Commission, but don't have the time or resources to travel to other countries, then set an extra plate at your table, prepare a bed and have lots of love for a student from a foreign country. You can participate in lifestyle evangelism in the comfort of your home. There is no pressure; just live your life and faith and let God handle the rest. As a bonus, you and your family will learn about another culture and gain a friend for life!Contact Heather Slinkard, Area Manager: 479-616-0621, ACTS5FAMILY@cox.net

Mats that Matter (Misc)

The Siloam Springs Civitan Club has as their main focus the support and involvement with those in the community that have physical and mental disabilities. As such they are always seeking ways to improve their lives. One such way they are doing this is through a new partnership they currently have with the Siloam Springs Adult Development Center. ADC is currently producing high quality rubber door mats made from recycled rubber belts from Gates Rubber Company. Rather than these rubber belts going to a landfill, they are now being used to make these great door mats. The Civitan Club is not making any money on the sale of the mats and is only serving as a means to promote and market the mats as a Community Service Project for our club. These mats are truly the "Mats that Matter" becasue the money from their sale goes to pay the individuals who make them and support the ongoing of ADC. The mats are approximately 28 inches by 15 inches and cost $20 per mat.For more information as to how to purchase the mats please contact Steve Wilmott at Signature Bank (479-238-9810) or Jerry Cavness at United Way of NWA (479-524-6639).
