Free Memory Screening & Consultation (education)
Location: Schmieding Center Springdale

Early diagnosis is crucial to effective dementia treatment, and you can take the first step by attending a free memory screening at the Schmieding Center on Thursday, July 8th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon or 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. The appointment will consist of a short memory screening followed by a consultation with Dr. Kristin Bosc, a clinical neuropsychologist. Appointment times are offered both in the morning and the afternoon. They must be reserved in advance and space is limited! Information tables regarding brain health, current clinical trials and community resources will also be available. Darren Sisemore, 26, of Rogers might rightfully wonder, “Why me?”The last decade could be likened to a bad dream from which he hopefully might awaken, smile back at a handsome face in the mirror and realize that the terrible tumor and the years of chronic infection in his face had been but an illusion.What a life he’s lived since age 12 when his left nostril began to close shut. By 16, both nostrils had become sealed. He also worried about the bulge in his left cheek and his shifting teeth.One doctor diagnosed a sinus infection and prescribed an ineffective over-the-counter nasal spray. Another physician, a specialist, ordered a CT scan and told Sisemore about the tumor they’d found in his sinus.

Peace4Kids, Inc. is a nonprofit exchange program which places foreign students with loving, volunteer host families for one or two semesters while they attend local high schools.
