Hi, it's KLRC General Manager Sean Sawatzky.
Like you, we're getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with those we love, and as we take time to thank God for all His good gifts, we want you to know you are one of those gifts we are giving thanks for. We're so grateful to have you as part of the KLRC family!
As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, our hearts are full of gratitude for you, our KLRC listening family! When we gather with friends and family, we'll be thanking God for the blessing of serving you each and every day.
Then, on Thursday night, the Positive Difference becomes the Holiday Difference, NWA's Uplifting Christmas Music Station!
A few weeks ago, Sean (KLRC's Station Manager) and I had the amazing privilege of representing you at the Christian Music Broadcasters awards. That night, the Christian radio industry recognized something we have known for over 30 years: KLRC listeners are the best in the country! Thanks to your faithful listening, showing God’s love through KLRC Cares projects, and generously supporting this ministry, KLRC was chosen as the 2016 Station of the Year!
Last week during Sharathon 2016, you not only met and exceeded KLRC's Spring Sharathon goal, but you provided Snack Packs for 300 kids in Northwest Arkansas! That's 300 kids in our local communities who won't go hungry for an entire school year.
Now we're inviting you to join us in helping pack those SnackPacks for kids! The packing is an assembly line process where there are teams who open up food products and teams who pack the bags. The bags are then counted, placed in bins, and then stacked up onto pallets so they're ready for delivery to schools.
There's a special group of people in our community who could really use some extra love this Valentine's Day, and that is home-bound seniors and nursing home residents!
We're joining together with our friends at Faith in Action to deliver Valentines Cards to as many of those individuals as possible this Valentine's Day.
At KLRC, we have always known we have the best listeners around!
Thanks for honoring the radio station this month with two very special awards.
Years ago, the sign on Nordstrom's said, "We won't be decking our halls until after Thanksgiving. We just like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time."
At KLRC, we love the celebration of the Christmas season, but we also love Thanksgiving! And celebrating one holiday at a time. So after we've finished up a good meal with family and friends, and taken time to thank God for so many blessings, the Positive Difference will become the Holiday Difference, celebrating the Light of Christmas!
My life has been a whirlwind the last few days, but after 5 years of adoption "process," the work of 3 US senators/congressmen, prayers and support from too many friends and family to count, and a string of truly miraculous events, one faithful and powerful God brought our family of 6 together for the very first time Thursday night.
Each time I walk in to check on sweet Ruth, I can't believe she is finally sleeping in the bed that has been waiting for her. There are no adequate words to express what this is like. Ruth asked me if America was in heaven, and it most certainly is not, but an orphan coming home is most certainly a really good picture of it (excuse me while I wipe away some tears).
Hi, this is KLRC General Manager Sean Sawatzky.
If you have just discovered the Holiday Difference, we want you to know that it's an honor to share the Christmas season with you! We hope you'll make yourself at home, and enjoy our unique blend of Christmas favorites... with some songs and artists you might even be discovering for the first time.
You've likely already seen the images of destruction on the news from tornadoes that ripped through Mayflower and Vilonia here in Arkansas, as well as Quapaw in Oklahoma and Baxter Springs in Kansas. Yesterday, additional storms caused even more widespread damage in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and several other states. Much like you, our hearts here at KLRC are very heavy as we see the loss of lives, property, and possessions that are now being reported.
KLRC listeners have been quick to respond to tornado disasters in Joplin, Missouri as well as Moore, Oklahoma over the past few years. True to form, we have already had many in our community ask us how they might be able to contribute to the victims of this latest round of storms. We're so thankful for the generosity of the KLRC listening family!
