After much prayer and many hours invested in the budget process, we've determined the listener portion of our budget for 2015 to be $1,150,000. This amount will not only fully fund KLRC for another year of ministry, but will also complete the funding for our new signal at 90.9FM!
"Would it be possible to look at the KLRC budget expenses?"
Absolutely! If your eyes aren’t already glazed over by the figures I’ve shared already, then I’d love to share some detail with you about how we steward the gifts that God entrusts to us through you.
The numbers below will provide detail on our proposed budget for July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
Psalm 24:1 — "The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."
One of the biggest "aha" moments my wife and I had about money is when we began to understand that this thing we kept referring to as “our money” wasn’t actually ours at all. If the earth and everything in it belong to the Lord, then that includes our finances. That means that each of us has been entrusted to manage, or steward, a certain amount of resources for God. “Our money” is not ours because we own it or have a right to it. “Our money” is ours because God has entrusted it to us to manage or steward for Him.
At KLRC, we've had the privilege to partner with so many organizations making a Positive Difference. For Sharathon 2015 we wanted to build on a special partnership we started last year with our friends at Samaritan Community Center.
We love sharing hope in Jesus with you through music, words, and whatever we do. We believe that's the only true hope – the positive difference with eternal significance.
It was a twenty minute commute to work, and if I wasn't already on the phone with the East coast office I only had to turn up the volume and the radio was already set to our local Christian radio station. You know the jingle. 101.1 KLRC, "The Positive Difference." Well, now there is 99.1 and 90.1, but at that point there was only one frequency.
I’d been a fan of the station since college when I transferred in ‘97 to John Brown University as a married student before my senior year. My minor was in broadcasting and a requirement before graduation was to take my turn as a student DJ for one hour each week. It’s an incredibly hard job sounding genuine and natural over the air!
