Joshua's Heart

"I just remember him saying, 'Mom, please, can I give some money? Because I love KLRC. They do such great things and they need to stay on the air so people can hear them!' And so that sweet little boy added up all the money that he had, and it came to like 7 dollars and 63 cents. But it was every penny that he had."

This is a story about Joshua and his heart. His mom told me how this same heart that moved him to give everything he had at age 8, grew even more confident and generous as he grew older.

You Assured Her of God's Love

“Cherish every moment. Live every day to the fullest. Laugh daily.” I could probably conclude this post with just those three wise statements recently shared with us by Renae. But to fully understand the significance of those words, you need to know more about her story.

Renae wrote to us a few weeks ago to share that her family has been fighting some pretty big battles. “My oldest son, Shawn, was diagnosed with large B-cell lymphoma of the spine. We have always trusted God’s plan for our lives, but now we are living that plan. Knowing His ways are better, we fully trusted that God would do what was best for my son.”

The Faith of a Child

This morning 8 year old Emma was listening to KLRC when she heard that Jack had called to give $10 of his birthday money. Emma and her brother Paxton went to mom and said, “We want to give too!” A little bit later Emma, her mom, and her brothers brought their giving jars to KLRC. Emma said that she wanted to give to KLRC because she loves singing and dancing along to the music and she wanted to help.

2 Months From Being Homeless

I was standing in the KLRC lobby when Patty walked in the door. She was shaking and had tears streaming down her face. I had no idea why she was so emotional, but Cheri did.

Day Sponsorships at KLRC

You can celebrate a special person or occasion through your support of KLRC!

Maybe you’ve heard the announcements celebrating holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or loved ones?  Those announcements are a great way to celebrate a special occasion while also supporting this ministry in a big way!

Where Does KLRC's Budget Come From?

One of the biggest "aha" moments my wife and I had about money is when we began to understand that this thing we kept referring to as “our money” wasn’t actually ours at all. If the earth and everything in it belong to the Lord, then that includes our finances. That means that each of us has been entrusted to manage, or steward, a certain amount of resources for God. “Our money” is not ours because we own it or have a right to it. “Our money” is ours because God has entrusted it to us to manage or steward for Him.

Our 2016 Sharathon Goal

After much prayer and many hours invested in the budget process, we’ve determined the listener portion of our budget for 2016 to be $1,110,000.

We’re anticipating the need to hold two on-air fundraisers to reach our annual listener budget need. The first is happening March 15-18 during KLRC’s "Be One" Spring Sharathon. Our goal for this specific event is $790,000. That will leave us with a funding need this fall of about $320,000.

Sharathon Kick-Off Day

We are so excited about our special Sharathon Kick-Off Day coming up this Monday, March 14th!

It's become a tradition at KLRC that we set aside the first day of Sharathon to focus on Prayer and Praise. Before we begin the fundraising portion of Sharathon, we want to take a day to celebrate who God is and what He has done.

A Letter From the Heart

Do you remember the last time you received a hand-written letter in the mail? We have so many instant ways of communicating today that it’s pretty special when someone takes the time to send a hand-written note. This is especially true when the words shared on paper give you an opportunity to get to know the heart behind the person writing the letter.

I received such a letter recently. The writer, who we’ll call Laura, began by thanking KLRC for the role God has allowed the station to play in her life.

Meeting Jesus Through KLRC

I'm always amazed by the lengths God will go to. The creative ways he will pursue adopting us into His family, even using a radio station fundraiser! A year ago we met Rosa when she called one of our Sharathon volunteers. That day she didn't just give a donation, she gave her heart to Jesus. We were honored to welcome her into God's family, and for the last year God has used your support of KLRC to make a positive difference in her life.
